Clutch Master Cylinder Installation?
I'm a dummy and can't remember the angle on the original one.
The master has a rubber hose up to the reservoir, sticking out of the master body, seen here next to the rubber grommet:
What's the correct angle for that hose to be in order to insert the master into the firewall hole (assume 12:00 or zero degrees is directly up, facing the firewall from the front of the car), and what's the correct angle for it to be after rotating the master into position, i.e. how much is it supposed to rotate, and which direction?
The thread is like a pickle jar top. Not like a fine Vernier caliper.
It's about a 1/4 turn to tight and you'll feel it pop into the locked position.
Do your self a favor and put a small C clamp (just finger tight) on the flats of the master cylinder to help you get a grip on the little sucker. You need to be sure it's locked all the way in and it's tough to get a good grip on it. You're using your left hand all the way out and twisting to the right - not the best for leverage.
