Re: How much does having TC on affect acceleration? (H-TownC5)
Ok lets say it does kick in when you break traction hitting 2nd.
From my experience you will loose about 0.5 sec in a quarter mile just by T/C kicking in on a 1 to 2 shift. If it kicks in off the line you will loose time there too.
For drag racing turn it off. The rest of the time leave T/C and A/H on for safety sake.
Re: How much does having TC on affect acceleration? (SoCal C5)
ok cool cuz the other day I was racing a stang, ripped 2nd and I actually was able to notice the car stop accelerating when TC kicked in, causing my steady pull away from him to stop for a moment, usually I make sure to turn it off but in the heat of the moment I just went. Oh well, still smoked em.
Re: How much does having TC on affect acceleration? (EHS)
It depends on whether it kicks in or not.
H-TownC5:
The reason for that statement was because I didn't know whether you thought that just having TC on affects acceleration. Corvette has something called "torque management," which even comes into play on an MN6.
TC has an on/off switch, TM is always on, and will affect acceleration at all times depending on how you're driving.

It can have a really big effect ... like sticking a rag in its mouth right when it needs to breathe the most. And the better the conditions(like cool dense air), the more effect it has.
