Catalytic Converter reset
Recently got the Service Column Lock error message despite having the LMC5 installed. Turned out to be a bad battery. Replaced it with an Optima Redtop. Have gotten all of the sensors reset except for the catalytic converter which says not ready. Have done the GM Drive Cycle five times now, without any result. Car must be smog checked this month. Any ideas how to get the darn thing to reset? Does a Chevy dealer have the ability to force a reset with a computer?
Thanks,
Phil

When a car ages often those pesky readiness monitors have trouble setting------There is no real way realistically to ever get them to set----EVEN if there is absolutely nothing wrong with your car !!!!
The easiest way is to have a tuner set all the troublesome codes or monitors to permanently read "READY" or "not reported" a mail order tuner can do this for about $150--several of them here on the forum OR have a local tuner that has HP or EFILIVE software do it for you------
