Default Nitrous bottle install?

Was thinking of installing the bottle inside the storage hole in the trunk but dont want to drill holes through it though. I was wondering what are some options out there to install the bottle safely without drilling through the body.
What is the best way to install the bottle using the provided mountig rings?

I used gorilla glue and glued it on the flat section right behind the seats, and drilled into the wood.

that looks good, might just go this route and to make it looks nice might throw a fabric around the base.

The wood is underneath the carpet, so you shouldn't need to cover it.

i'd still go through the body.. if you've never drilled through these (i can send pics of the 2 holes in mine if you want) its super super easy to patch with fiberglass when/if you remove the bottle. plus it'd be under the carpet and not very visible, anyway. just cut slits in the carpet (not holes) that you can reseal with glue later on.

my 2 cents. i know that answers the question you specifically didnt ask.

I understand you not wanting to drill holes in the rear compartment cubby but keep in mind that glue may not hold the bottle and mounting plate in the case of a car accident and they become projectiles inside your cabin that can cause serious injury or death.

I made an thin metal plate, covered it in carpet and after properly bending it bolted it in. I know the bottles aren't going anywhere. We race ours so a rollover, crash, etc. was on my mind with safely securing it.

i wasnt going to get into the tech, but yea, i'd imagine any track worth a damn wouldnt want to see a bottle of nitrous glued to anything. and if you so much as have to do an abrupt stop in traffic, you now have a large heavy metal object flying towards your windshield.. and you. just drill the holes

Yeah the more I think about it the more it makes sense to just drill through and bolt the bottle to the body. The thing is I need to make a hole for the blow down tube as well, that's why I wanted to avoid making too many holes.
Sean can you send me the pics of the holes I am curious to see where you drilled yours.

I was going to mount mine horizontal but I am starting to like the way you did it.

yes
If you go to a track the tech inspection will look for the tube to exit the car.
