Question, will an auto dimming rear view mirror interchange with a manual dimming mirror? Will the wiring hook up the same? This is on a C5 convertible.

It will not "interchange" (plug and play), but it can be swapped out. The windshield fitting is the same, but the AD mirror uses a slide-on fitting that latches in place instead of a Phillips head retainer screw.
You'll need the mirror (RPO code DD8 is the auto-dim mirror without the compass) and also the wire harness connector. Cut and splice the wires. I made the swap and also changed the map light LEDs (there are 18) for brighter units.
I suggest used, either from Ebay or call Marc at Vettenuts for a good used mirror AND wire harness. You need both.
Tip: be careful which way you connect your two orange wires into the new mirror connector. If you get them reversed, your courtesy lights will not work when you open your door. Reverse them.

By the way, in case you try to unplug your wires and plug into the 7-pin connector, it won't work. The wire terminal pins are different. One is Delphi Metri-Pak, and the other is made by JST and they use different connectors and different wire terminal pins.
