MAF conversion to 85 MM
I looked many places on the net but remain confused about a 85 MM OEM MAF.
I found what appears to be a larger OEM 85mm replacement MAF for the C5 Corvette. I have an 03 model and will be doing a supercharger in the spring. I wouldn't mind a little extra MAF flow if it doesn't screw up the tuning, etc. I found this MAF labeled GM High Performance on the net. It was described as: "This MAF sensor is used with LS1, LS6, LS2, and LS3 engines. With calibration adjustments to the MAF frequency table in the PCM, this MAF can replace the 3 wire LT1 and LS1 MAF sensor. The intake air temperature sensor is integrated into this MAF sensor. *Unlike the SLP 85mm conversion, this will require PCM calibration*. Available with or without plug and play harness adapter for your 1997-2004 Corvette, F-body and GTO"
If I read correctly it does require retuning. Does GM actually make a replacement for the LS1 that is 85MM that doesn't require tuning? Or is the one I have found here the only OEM option.
