LGM had a C5R block sitting on a stand today at the dyno day. I dunno who it belongs to or what will become of it, but it was a nice looking piece as well. :yesnod:
I don't have a price for the pistons as it was just a part of the rotating assmebly. The price quoted for the shortblock (less block) included the stroker crank, rods, pistons, rings, cam, timing chain and gears, oil pump, block honing and preparation, assembly and installation. I bought the C5R block from Team Chevrolet for $6100.
The final power numbers will be a factor of the boost levels and tuning. If BLUTHUNDERS 346 ci motor makes 635rwhp, a 427, which is 81 (23.6%) c i bigger, should make over 750rwhp. I am after reliability not just absolute power so MMS probably won't tune it over 8 psi. I'm sure it could be setup to make over 800rwhp, but there is a point where more power doesn't make the car any faster on street tires.
Ugh, hugh, arghhh, oh, ouch. Sorry I was just bangin' my head in the wall wishin' I could afford one. You should be able to spank a lot of little mustangs with that big beast!

I don't know much about how different this block is from stock LS1/LS6.
If you had new LS6 heads and all the accessories from the LS1 from the car would you need any other parts?
The C5R block is a completely different casting than the LS1/LS6 block. The heads are interchangable, but I have a 4" forged stroker crank, forged rods and pistons.....none of the original LS1 components would be correct for a 427. I don't need LS6 heads as the flow is controlled by the supercharger. I'm using MMS Stage III LS1 heads (2.10/1/60)...if I want more/less rwhp...its just a matter changing the boost level.
