Default New Head unit

Not sure if anyone has tried this before, but I'm trying to create a touchscreen headunit to replace the factory one. I want to do this by using a raspberry pi because while I want the media center, I also would like telemetry integration through OBD-II and other sensors and interact through a touchscreen to control it all.

Any ideas?

I was going to do that in my truck and never got around to it !!!! Impressive little machines !!! They make the adapters for your 12 volt hook up, that makes the power easy !!

The only thing I'm worried about is how to wire the speakers to it to play sound.

Yes it does, but I'm not sure how to plug the Bose system in the car straight into it, mainly because I'm not sure how the plugs that plug into the factory head unit are wired up. Remember, I'm going for the full package, I'm not going to route it through an aftermarket HU, I want the Pi to be the HU.

I don't know if this answers your question, this is a pinout out for my 02 Monte SS, you could fine one for the Vette if they are different ????

Is the radio pinout maybe in the service manual?

Does Post #8 help you?

I was looking to see two things. 1) if someone has done something like this before, and 2) if anyone had ideas of how to convert the speaker plugs. The service manual is a good place to start with that. I have one I just haven't had time to look at it yet. Thanks guys.
