Just to add my $0.02, I concur that ANY shifter is better than the stock one! I had to put the stock one back in for a week (long story) and I forgot how much it's like rowing a boat. Every shift with the Hurst is a joy, every shift with the stocker makes me appreciate the Hurst.

I've used both the Ripper (previous vette) and Hurst (current vette), and liked them both. I prefer the Hurst because I have had alot less rattle with it, but YMMV.

Don't forget you can try shortening the stock one. Alot of people swear by it.

The Hurst kicks booty. I went with it after reading many, many reviews of Hurst, Kirban and Ripper. There were a few people who had tried all three and eventually stayed with the Hurst.

One of my best mods.

I've had my ripper in for two years, haven't had much effort problems.
I do remember when I first installed it the car felt like a race car, tight shifts, precise.

I also don't have any comparison to give you, but a high recomendation on the ripper, still lovin it........ :yesnod:
