Default Tranny/ stall ???'s

I think I know the answer, but need a little verification. I had to replace my stall converter and while the tranny was out I had it refreshed too. My question is, I went from a 3500 stall to a 2800 stall, do I need to retune the car and it's shift points since it's a different stall? It seems sluggish at certain speeds and if it sits for two days, it acts like it's not in gear until it warms up. Thanks for the help, L8R ZFLASH

could it just be the converter? I had a 3200 stall on my heads/cam car when starting my build and it hardly increased my 60 foot time from the stock converter. I later on heard a 3200 is more for a supercharged car and that I should have a higher stall so we replaced it with a 4,000 Yank and 3:73 gears.

I wore out the 4,000 and replaced it with a power adder series Yank 3,800. I'll attach a vid of how it hits. This is a 3,800 which flashes to 5,200 before locking :-)

I feel you have a too low of a stall ...

Sitting for 2 days shouldn't make it act like it's not in gear till it warms up.... Check into that!! Low fluid level among other things can cause that symptom

Thanks guys, just getting home from work. I drive my '55 Ford truck on Saturday and Sunday, so I'll see how it acts Monday morning on the way to the golf course. L8R ZFLASH
