I foolishly did not disconnect the battery when I removed my instrument cluster. After I removed it I noticed that my headlights would not shut off even in the stowed position . It was a very tight fit and I'm wondering if I could have damaged the light control switch. The battery is disconnected now, and was hoping everything might reset when I install the cluster back in?
I didn't disconnect the battery when I took out my gauge cluster to put LEDs in and didn't have any issues. I actually needed the battery connected to test the lights before putting the cluster back in.
Well, I hooked it all back up after 2 days, but the lights are still nuts.
The problems are:
Low beams stay on all the time, even when the popups are lowered.
Turning the end of the stalk does nothing, except to turn on the dash lights.
Push the stalk forward raises the popups, and they seem to be acting normal, flash to pass and high beams work, but the other functions do not.
I think I must have put too much pressure on the switch stalk. I'm pulling it tomorrow, some people have fixed theirs. If not, buying a new one.
