Default Time for a new AGM battery

Just spent time reading/researching past posts in the forums but unfortunately it seems several companies are no longer selling the AGM batteries. Where I'm at locally, Sears no longer sells the Platinum and they can't get a "Gold" in AGM either. Not sure I want that anyway with them going under, but my last Platinum AGM lasted me 7 years, so I just wanted to get a replacement and be done with it - no luck.

I tried Odyssey from Battery Source and the Interstate AGM but none of my local retailers sell the AGM, just the $89 cheap-o. Where are folks getting their AGM batteries from locally? Any info/help is appreciated! Thx

Advance or autozone should carry them. Buy it online at Advance, use discount TRT30, pick it up in store. That will get you 30% off (max $50 off). GL

I've been using Exide AGM's as replacements for my 1998 C5 over the years. Their original AGM "Orbital" was replaced a couple of years ago by a model called Edge AGM. You can usually get them from auto parts stores that carry Exide car batteries. I've also seen a line of AGM's sold at Advance Auto, but not sure if the RC specs line up for what the C5 requires.

Yes! Looks like they have Optima AGM batteries... I'll do some research and check them out. Appreciate the promo code, too!

You may need to go to the next group size battery, size 78. They still fit in the stock battery tray, just a little bit larger.

I don't know where you are at, but if you have a Farm and Fleet store they have the Duralast Extreme AGM in a 34/78 size (dual terminals). Even has a 120 RC. Frequently on sale for about $125.

I put one in my '99 and it has been great.

Sorry, in FL... closest one is Illinois. Not sure I trust this old battery to go that far.
