Ive noticed recently when I turn my headlights on the brightnes on them will be up and down about 30sec intervals and for me it almost feels like im switching form hi to low beams....the voltage shows around 14.5 consistent...can it be the bulbs or is it alternator?
Got any more details, like do they both dim at the same time? Does it happen at any speed or just at one speed? Anything you can think of might help diagnose the problem.
One thing our cars are infamous for is bad electrical grounds. Check the negative battery cable and make sure the connections are clean and tight at both ends of the cable. Also check any other ground straps you can locate on the car.
Other places to check are the wiring harness connectors. They can get corroded. Also check the underside of the fuse box.
Yes looks like both dim at the same time ..ill check the grounds on the battery and other places and sew if that will do
Hey Bob...I has a similar problem some years ago....my fix was new bump stops. It was just that simple. When I flipped my bump stops, you could see they were very worn.
I checked the negative cable on the battery it was kinda loose so I re tighten it haven't drove it yet...weather about to turn bad here again...
What do u mean bump stops u talking about on the headlight?

Each headlight has four "bump stops"...two to limit where it opens and two to limit where it closes...they get worn. Don't just turn them over, buy new ones, they are cheap.
