Service Vehicle Soon applies to non drive train related items. The one time it showed up on my car was when I had the power steering rack replaced and the mechanic did not realize there was a correct orientation for the steering shaft. Once on the road the computer kept getting a reading showing the steering was at maximum deflection. First dealership that I went to was able to clear the code but did not realize the rack had been out of the car and could not determine why the code appeared. When I finally got back home the dealership that replaced the rack discovered the steering shaft was 360 degrees out and corrected the situation.

Next time message diplays on DIC I'll take it immediately to a second dealer. :mad :mad
That's bad, very bad......sounds like a computer error - ....good luck finding out the problem. Mine has the "airbag" symbol stick every once in a while & I still don't know why ! :smash:
No codes on mine either. I have a habit now.... Start car, shut of traction control, clear DIC of service engine soon and traction control. Put in drive beat on car. :D
That is correct. NO history codes. Of course, me like a dummy cleared the only code in history before bringing in to dealership. I told them what it was: 28 TCS C1281H (Steering Sensor Uncorrelated Malfunction).
Service guy told me that the sensor may need to be replaced, however, they would feel more comfortable waiting for message to display on DIC. This should occur in about 40 miles! (every 100 miles like clockwork).
I'll take the car out Friday and rack up the milage required to flash the message, then return to dealer.
One good point in all this, the dealer didn't charge me :D
I had the same thing. The message came on when I was driving about 70mph. The dealership said the message was pointing to an oxygen sensor. They tested the sensor and said it was fine. Never happened again.
