Hood release is drivers side, under the dash, on the kick panel.
Battery is passenger side, right next to the fuse box.
The hood opens from the rear...
Some owners have installed their batteries in the rear of the car. Most likely as stated above, it will be under the hood. There are two hood latches, one on each side of the hood located closer to the windshield than the headlights.
try to remember to grasp and pull open from the middle of the hood , to avoid it taking a sidewise set from flexing in one direction over many openings, if you lift from one side only.
And don't set your packages on the trunk lid while looking for your keys, same deal , the support structure is intentionally light weight and not designed for abuse. Plus, it identifies you as a , well, someone who is ok with warped panel fit .
