Below is a list of future(6 weeks)mods. I have all the parts except the cam. I'm waiting for the heads to be flowed on my tuners bench so that he can recommend a cam based on what he has seen. I want a streetable, dependable and emissions legal, fast car. 380-400 hp. I don't want the car to shift over 6400 rpms. Any suggestions on a cam. Thanks.
z06 ported and polished heads(2.02/1.57 valves), Comp. cam(216/220 525/532), Vararam intake, ported and polished throttle body, FLP headers(hi-flow cats and x-pipe), zO6 exhaust, "3.42 rear", sy3500 torque converter, Transgo shift program kit, Rollmaster double roller chain, ASP underdrive pulley, ignition wires, NGK iridium plugs, aluminum accumulator piston, remove maf screen, tranny cooler, 180degree thermostat, deep tranny pan and tuning.

Re: Need cam suggestions (jfpilla)
Joe:
LGM G5! :smash: With your heads and this cam you should reach 400rwhp on your A4 without sacrificing drivablility, reliability and should be perfect for the street and occassional mid to high 11 second blast!
Since you have opened up the exhaust with the headers, I believe a 218,218 cam will better serve your purposes. The longer duration exhaust split pattern cams are that way for the specific purpose of improving breathing when you have stock exhaust manifolds.
Total,
I was talking to Brian at TEA today he also indicated a single pattern cam was a good option. I wonder what duration I can go to without pushing power past 6200 rpm's. thanks for the input.
I agree with lost. I am running the 218/218 cam with .561" lift, and 114 lsa. With simular heads (11.3:1), long tubes, etc, it easily passes smog, and idles smoothly. Oh, by the way, it makes GREAT power, and better than stock gas mileage. :D
6 speeder,
Those are nice numbers. At what rpm's do you make peak hp? Thanks, you guys are a big help. Only problem is I'm getting too anxious about getting it all done.
jpilla, I would give chris a speeddemon motorsports in houston a call. I am looking hard at one of his cams he calls a "piglet" cam. Its a 224/224 588/588 112 on a 108 ICL.
Chris is very knowlegable about a wide array of cam options.
Austrian Vette is running speed demon heads and cam on stock bottom end, and has the worlds quickest H/C Naturally Aspirated C5 at 10.91 ET

Joe, this soundsl like great advice to me. Chris, at SDM really knows his LS1s.
I appreciate the recommendation of the G5 camshaft, but he did mention that he wanted to stay emissions-legal. With that in mind, our G2 camshaft would work very well. It's a 224 single-pattern on a 113 LSA. It makes some GREAT power, idles well, and will keep you emissions-legal. I'm running this same cam on a 112 LSA in my A4 Camaro SS, and it's performing okay with the stock heads in place. ;)
Feel free to give me a call if you would like to discuss it further. We have a few of them sitting on the shelf, so we can get you one out this afternoon!
Trevor,
What is the lift on the G2? My heads flow as follows: Intake - .400-276, .500-291, .600-297. Exhaust - .400-192, .500-242, .600-256. It does look like a single pattern would work well. A lift around .550 seems like it would use the flow. Thanks
