Got an issue that I'm hoping i can get some insight on. Yesterday, was one of the first days that the weather was good enough to get my C5 out. Owner is since Dec, but haven't driven it besides the ride home. I had replaced the belt, which looked worn, with a Continental Elite belt.
While driving, i noticed that everytime I shifted the belt would give a little squeal, only last for 2-4 seconds, and would go away. When sitting idling, I hear nothing. Maybe needs a new tensioner? or dreaded harmonic balancer? Any suggestions on what to look at would be great, thanks for the help!
I don't know if this is any help. When you changed out your belt did you check on the condition of any belt driven components eg water pump, idler pulley, air pump, alternator? I had a belt squeek and found out (after some grief)the water pump bearings were piling/seizing up causing squeel. After water pump change out no problemo. Anyone else have some idea's??

Thanks for the response, I gave everything a wiggle and didn't notice any movement. However, I will check it again.
