I am a new C5 owner ( about a month now). I just noticed this past week that I have a small power steering leak . After cleaning the area pretty well. I went for a drive.
Doesn't seem to be coming from the high pressure hose or the pump from what I see and can feel.
My fear is it may be the rack. Below are a few pictures that I took and it appears there is a little fluid on the threads that I can see (not sure if they show up in the picture). You can see the steering knuckle in the pictures.
This looks like a bracket holding the ABS module I think. Any advice is greatly appreaciated
Most probable is the rack. Have no fear, in almost every car I have owned it developed a leak in rack because of the cold cold climate and bad roads. Truly a no mans or cars land IMHO. I add some Power Steering Stop Leak. Wynn's Power Steering Stop Leak is an oil soluble supplement to stop and prevent leaks in the power steering system. Revitalises rubber and neoprene seals and "O" rings. Cleans and protects the system by means of detergents and dispersants! Blah, blah. IT WORKS IS ALL I CAN SAY!! Your option is rack replacement.
