Accidentally touched the positive battery cable to the negative and now nothing, the car is dark as the back side of the moon. The battery is showing 12.6 volts.
First I'd switch off all lights, radio and accessories.
A thorough visual inspection of the engine wiring along with a sniff test for burnt wire insulation would be next.
Then check the fuses and circuit breakers.
A meter set to continuity would be a big help. Replace any fried fuses with the proper amperages.
Hopefully you'll have power to the lights now and it will start up.
If all is well, check for proper charging output at the DIC and volt gauge as the alternator diodes and/or voltage regulator may have expired as well.
Good Luck & HTH,
Jimmy
