Default Electrical help - 2 step install

i am wiring in a msd 2step on my 02 Z06. I am wiring it per the longenfelter instructions and using a relay off the clutch switch to also power my line lock at the same time.

Connections are as follows:
switched 12v to purple wire on clutch switch
yellow wire from clutch switch to pin 86
pin 85 to ground
pin 30 to purple wire of clutch switch back to harness
pin 87 to yellow wire of clutch switch back to harness

Ive got everything working except it won't start when the clutch pedal switch is wired to the relay (pins 30 and 87).

I can take the clutch switch loose and wire it back in to the existing wires (yellow and purple) and jumper the plug and the car starts.

However, when I hook it back up to the relay and jumper the plug, the car won't do anything. I can plug the pigtail plug back into the switch and press the switch and nothing.

The line lock and 2 step power up as they should, although that's just 12v making it across the clutch switch. Something weird in the relay. And I've tried 3 different relays, they all do it.

Also, I can ohm out pins 30 and 87 of the relay and it shows 0 ohm when the relay is made.

I'm stumped.

May not be of any help but I have the n2mb 2 step and it's wired to the cruise switch at the top of clutch pedal not the lower clutch start switch at the firewall

Everything I've read says use the lower switch.

How does it work on the upper switch? Seems like the 2 step wouldn't disengage until the clutch was fully extended. How do you slip the clutch off the starting line?

Just had a thought: The only thing I didn't test was the harness/pigtails that came with the relay. Hopefully that's it cause I cant think of anything else.

The msd may use the lower switch I'm not familiar with them, each brand probably has their own different wiring, I don't really slip mine it's more of a dump, mine also has a no lift shift feature which is why is on the upper switch as soon as you hit the pedal it momentarily kills the ignition so I never let off the gas

Wanted to bring this to a close. I never got it working correctly off the bottom clutch switch.

I did, however, verify it worked when just tied in with the line lock switch....and then I removed the MSD, sold it and purchased a N2MB.
