Default Anybody had their steering sensor replaced?

Well I am going to have to go to the dealership to have this thing fixed/replaced and was talking to one of the techs there that said it'd be probably around $300 or so because they have to tear into the inside of the car where the diagnostic port is to get to the sensor. I have an extended warranty but am unsure if it is covered by this and if it actually covers parts AND labor. But if any of you have done this yourself or had it done at the dealer let me know how much it ran you or how hard it was to do yourself..thanks.

I had the steering wheel position sensor replaced in the first month of ownership.
The active handling would not function, if the sensor failed.
It took three visits to the dealership, before they replaced the sensor. :(
The first visit was the first week I had the car.

The steering column has to come out to replace the sensor :yesnod: Once removed,it simply slides off the bottom of the column...

That's exactly what the mechanic said...any idea how much this is going to cost me if the warranty doesn't cover it?

If you have GMPP it will be covered.
