Re: Setting Alarm (Straightpipes 1HD)
Why would you want to anyway? What would be the point,?
The point would be that someone broke into my car with a brick and if the alarm could be set with the doors still unlocked. The next time someone tried to get in they would try the door first (hopefully) and then the alarm would go off, instead of trying the door and then taking a brick to the windows.
What you need is an aftermarket alarm with shock sense and glassbreak. This unit can be programmed to arm without locking the doors. Check out http://www.compustar.org [URL]. I am the Canadian distrutor for this cool product. 2-way communication with your vehicle lets you know when someone is near or trying to break in. Also is available with remote start for manual or auto transmissions.

I recently had a CODE ALARM ELITE 4200 installed in my car , it can be programmed to lock / unlock doors , windows up , rem. start , tilt sensor and a pager . I added to Approximety sensors in the front and back where if someone gets 2 feet from car it will give a warning . I recommend hooking the car horn to the alarm for louder alert . it dose also have a second car capability , it is GOOD and one of the best ones , total cost is about $420.00
Check with Stereorama in clearwater. They installed my stereo and alarm system. They are a high end, pro shop so expect to pay for it, but they do top notch work. They can make the car as secure as you want it to be. Talk to Bill (the manager) or Terry (the owner). Tell 'em I recommended you.
