Burned up my transmission with only 28,000 miles. Never dragged it ever, canyon carver with 342 rear, AFR heads and mild cam, under pully and external tranny cooler. it made 395 before I had to remove the LGs to pass smog, dyno tuned at about 375 now. Time for a tranny and converter.
RPM vs Gearstar Transmissions. Yank recommends Gearstar, supplies their T/C. Tranny and T/C are dynoed and sold as a package. Level 3 from them with a Yank SS3200. 6 month warranty vs 3 month RPM

Any Thoughts?
Car didn't come with a 342, did it? I thought the autos were all 2.73's or 3.15's. I could be wrong.
I wouldn't have thought Yank would have recommended a 3.200 on a N/A car, not going to get much benefit out of it. think you would benefit from a higher stall, somewhere around 3,600 - 4,000.

No, 342s were a mod. Talked to Dave and he recommended SS3200
When I was racing and first installed a 3,200, I couldn't cut better then a 1.8 60 foot. With the 3,600 on my 382, it's gone 1.34 and the 346 is cutting 1.36's with both a 4,000 and 3,800 Yank. I assume you are not going to run at the track and are not looking for a good hole shot but more keeping the stock feel. Good luck with your choice.
