The difference in feel and handling is amazing, well worth the PIA the job is.
Yeah, that's the method I'm going to try. I put a C-clamp on and it appeared the compressed enough to get them in, but a bolt will be easier way to do it. Unfortunately, I need to run out to hardware store to get a bolt. None of the spare bolts I have laying around are big enough.

As a follow up, the bolt method worked perfectly.
I compressed the bushing as much as I could, and then tapped the end of the control in with a dead blow hammer to get them started until it hit the bolt. There was enough clearance that the tops of the flanges were inside the proper location in the cradle.
I then put a jack under the control arm end, removed the bolt, and then used the jack to press the control arm the rest of the way into the cradle where I installed the proper bolt and camber plates.
So, after 2 weekends and a few hours on the week nights after work, I have it all back together. Now to get an alignment done.
Thanks everyone for the advice.

I installed my rear upper and lowers a couple months ago. I used a bolt, washer on each end, and a nut and compressed it. Went right in. Just need to be smarter than the bushing

Let us know how you like the upgrade. Despite what a PIA it was, I'd do it again.

Will do - I'm heading to Lime Rock with it Monday.
