LS6 manifold on an LS1
If I put an LS6 intake manifold on a stock LS1 with nothing more than a tune would I gain any HP whatsoever? What if I did that and added a Vararam?

Your original plan was to keep the stock filter setup but replace the manifold and tune it? Just don't waste your money on that.
Doing a Vararam or Honker with an ls6 intake and a tune would probably be worth 20ish rwhp and you'd have better throttle response. If you're planning on any other upgrades like headers then do it all at once so you don't pay for 2 tunes.
