Default Half filled 416 oil cooler

looking for some input. I have a 416 ci half filled block I am putting my C5Z, I live in Texas and would like to keep the car cool. How much will an external oil cooler help? And has anyone put in on their vette?

you'd be better off asking this in the road racing, as nearly all of us there have oil coolers. and yes, they help significantly. i added in a DRM radiator and an enormous oil cooler for tracking at altitude where the temps are still 90-100, yet with less air to do the cooling, it runs like it's 120 degrees.

so in ~90-100 degree ambient Denver temp, my oils were roughly (track is dead on, im trying to remember street)

street idle: 220
track after several laps: 290+ and warning me

after bigass Setrab cooler (approx the size of a human backpack), can get number later
street idle: 200
track after several laps: 240

also of note: i cut away the license plate section for more airflow. i doubt the factory setup would allow for this much airflow/cooling.
