I purchased a 1999 a month ago, the previous owner put new tires on it recently, within a few months, but most likely, never changed any of the sensors.
I did a lot of reading and got into tire training, but I cant get the front left tire to read, so I cant continue.
How would you guys go about "fixing" this issue? I realize every tire will have to be removed and balanced again.
Take it to a tire shop and see if they can get them to work or determine if they need to be replaced. "I've heard" that Shrader makes an "EZ Sensor" that is compatible with most all auto manufactures' tire pressure monitoring systems. They are "about" $50 each. Did they TPMS ever work since you have owned the car?

I bought the car knowing they didn't work, I looked online at shrader and the cheapest I saw them were $65.00 from TPMS.com
Have you tried starting with another tire to see if the issue is just with the left front?
You can also pull and post your codes to see which TPMS are not working. The codes of concern are listed under B0- RFA.
You do NOT have to remove the tire from the rim to replace the sensors as long as the tires are not RUN FLATS so you could avoid having to do a re-balance. Just break the outside edge off the wheel and then the tire can be pressed down to replace the sensor:
Post #10 and then the 5th pic to see how the C5 TPMS looks on a wheel.
After the front left did not respond, I went to the front right and that did not respond.
I will extract the coded later when I get back home, not having to take this to a tire place will be a home run for me, I don't trust them jacking my car up.
I have the air tools to do this, thanks for that tip!!!

Your must be looking in the wrong places. I just brought 4 new Schrader TPM's for my 04. $138.00 delivered to my door.......Oops, my bad. Just saw you have a 99
Does the car have key FOB's and do they work???? If they work then it is highly unlikely that the receiver module is bad for just the TPMS. The same receiver module receives transmissions from the FOB's and the TPMS. Unlikely that it would fail for TPMS and not FOB's.
The wheels on the car do NOT look like the OEM wheels that came on a 99. If the wheels are from a 2001 or later C5 and have the TPMS for the later year car, that could be the problem. The TPMS for the 2001 - 2004 C5 operate at a different frequency than does the correct TPMS for 1997 - 2000. They might just be the wrong TPMS.
Could also be that the TPMS are original for a 1999 and if that is the case the batteries in all 4 could be bad. No way to know for certain without removing the TPMS and examining them compared to the PIC's in the link above. Should be pretty easy to see if they are early year TPMS or later year TPMS.
Either way I suggest that you are looking at new TPMS for the car.
brilliant! I think you nailed it!, my fob works fine, I recently did the solder job on it.
The previous owner told me he changed the rims out to an 03 I think so it makes a whole lot of sense now.
