Default IAC Valve 97 Corvette

I have a 97 Corvette with an erratic idle that goes up and down after starting, goes away after reaching operating temperature. I have a head and cam package with stock MAF. Is the Idle Air Control valve the culprit if so where is it located? Or possibly the stock MAF needs to be upgraded to an aftermarket unit? Please advise.

A Corvette or any GM car with an electronic drive by wire throttle does NOT have an IDLE AIR CONTROL VALVE-----The idle air is controlled by throttle position opening and not an IAC valve----
NO Your Stock MAF is plenty well capable of handing up to 600 + crank HP No need to
change it---
An erratic cold start or idle "surging" is easily tunable and is very common with mods like hds/cams----
When an engine is dead cold the ECM runs off what they call "open loop" Once the coolant temp reaches 140* it switches to "closed loop" where the front 02's control the fuel ration trying to always correct it to 14.68----However when cold and in open loop the fuel is based off the "open loop fuel table" Always a tuner must compensate for the added airflow from hds/cam to allow the engine to start and idle normally
Any tuner with HP or EFILIVE can easily correct this issue--A handheld tuner cannot fix this nor can a mail order tune as a mail order tune is simply their best guess--- and in order to fix your issues properly a tuner MUST have your car----
