Default How Do I Test Cam Sensor Got P0343 code

Hey guys. My car was hard to start today. IT is a 2004 Z06. I had to crank it over three or four times. It just burped and farted the first few tries and then on the fourth try fired right up. Threw a light and it is the P0343 code.

I have looked all over the internet and seems like the most likely cause it loose cam bolts. Ok, i can dig that. I just put a dry sump on the motor and took it open tracking and beat the sh*t out of it so I can see that happening. I pulled the intake just to check out the sensor before I go through that fun job of dropping the engine cradle, rack, etc to get the timing cover off (I have done this twice already in the last two weeks).

So the wires and the sensor look fine. Since I am here how do I test it? Can I use a multimeter? IF so what the heck am I looking for? I am an old carb and distributor guy so I am on the learning curve. Is there a procedure for testing this online? I want to test the sensor itself and the wires coming to it to make sure the problem is not there before I bust out the air tools and go hog wild.

Thank you in advance for any input.
