Default 1998 TPMS - Suggestions

Hi All,

I'm excited to join the forum!

Quick question. I purchased 4 new ZO6 replica wheels from FloridaSpeedShop for my 98. (18"x19") I've read some of the older threads discussing replacement TPMS and/or compatible TPMS.

Does anyone have a recommendation for a TPMS that has worked well for their 98? Maybe there is a more recent option that has been working great for the folks on this forum? I've read that some no longer require the magnet for calibration?

I have the original wheels with TPMS that still work, however my intent was to leave the wheels and tires mounted and simply purchase new TPMS and tires.

Thanks all!

Welcome!

I just ordered four Shraders for my 1999 for the same reason you have, the old owner updated his rims & tires and the new valves are not compatible.

For $275.00 free shipping and no tax, plus I purchased a donut magnet for $15.00 I should be set.

Many at the forum here have updated to the new style TPMS, they are less money bought individual but the complete change over setup will cost around $400.00, perhaps more.

Ill do this now, the way I did and if I live anther 10 years, I will be happy to spend another $XX.XX for a replacement valve.

Running Schraders from Tire Rack on my '98. The old ones were original OEM's and about 14 tears old - still working but slow to register. TR had supplied a donut magnet, but it did not fit between the spokes (I had bought their ZR1 lookalike wheels), so I used a small (and cheap) magnet from Lowes and just held in in the barrel of the wheel by the valve - worked perfectly.

Don't go down the route of buying sensors that need a special tool to reset them, as that's just extra cost to buy the tool. Schrader was the OEM manufacturer, BTW.

If it's not too late, I'd suggest the Titan system
