Default Oil pickup tube o-ring

Does anyone have a video or sound clip of a damaged o-ring? I know there was a TSB about this and it says it can cause a noise that sounds like a collapsed lifter. I am wondering if that might be the source of my engine noise. My oil pressure is normal but I did have an issue recently where it bottomed out for awhile while driving through town. Also how difficult of a job is it to replace the o-ring?

I am working on one right now.. It's really a strange noise at a certain rpm..
When I pulled the pump, it didn't look like a pinched O ring.. But
I have just run the motor for a very small amount of time without any accessories
and it sounds better.
BTW , i used a melling hp 10295 pump- not hi volume, but 10% more pressure is all.

You basically are doing a harmonic balancer job, then water pump, more accessories,
timing cover, oil pump removal.. Might as well do a timing chain too.
This was on a 30k motor.. Timing chain already had lots of slop in it.

Thanks for the info. So it didn't cause a ticking/knocking sound at idle?

Here's my update: The noise was ONLY at 1300 to 1700 rpms..
Hot or cold oil.. Didn't matter.. So was really not thinking a bad lifter..

Got everything put back together.. Ran engine NO accessories at all. Did NOT hear
the old noise
Got all accessories back on. Ran engine to oil temp and coolant temp to burp.

Changed oil & Filter.
Now, when Hot Oil - get the same noise. Now just at 1000 - 1300 rpms.
So all this work and not the result I was hoping for..
Never had noise at idle or past rpm range... This is strange

I know this is an old thread but did you ever happen to find what was causing this strange noise? Also did you have oil pressure issues with the damage o-ring? I’m wondering if this might be something that I have going on. I’m thinking about ordering a Melling high volume pump
