New water pump doesnt fit

Hey !

Need a little help here.

The new water pump is pressing with back plating bolts against the chain plate. The fitting is off by 2 milimeters wich it would make a huge leak ofcourse.. Manufactor for this pump is airtex.

should i grind the top of the bolts off without making anyharm to the pump itself?

The thing is i destroyed 2 sets of gaskets before finding this out - becouse with gaskets and sealer applyed it didnt feel or look to have any offset

i'm in EU and have 0 gaskets left, if i order new it takes up to 20 days for new ones to arrive.

the roads are clean and sun is shining.. but not for me.

Can you re-use the shorter old bolts ?

was also thinking about this too, if the gasket inside is reusabe then ill do that.

I don't buy that brand in any product they make, fuel pumps really suck. I say take it back and get a better one.

X2 . . . bought fuel pump for my truck and it was DOA . . . Never again.
