Hi All,
I'm going to be reinstalling my rebuilt 4l60e, new torque converter and diff with new seals and side cover o-rings. Any advice from someone who has done some or all of these things to ease the project?
My best advice is to make certain the torque converter is properly seated into the trans before bolting the trans to the bell housing. Many transmission pumps are damaged during installation when the converter is not seated all the way into the trans. Also, I found that it was simpler to attach the diff to the trans and install the two as a unit. I've read where some found it easier to install the trans first and then the diff but I don't think I could have gotten the diff aligned with the output shaft on the trans with the trans already on the car. It's pretty simple to do with both units out of the car. Once the trans is in, take your time, double check all electrical and trans line connections. It should go without any problems if you're methodical. Best of luck on it!
