Default 18" wheels front and rear?

Tired of buying two different sizes. Any ramifications by doing this?
Is anyone done this? Thanks 2003 Annv. Vert
My front is 17" and rear is 18". Thinking 18" front and rear?

lots of people run 18's or 19's all around but the wheel and tire sizes will still need to be staggered to keep the tcs/ah happy... if you don't care about traction control you could turn it off every time you drive the car and run a square setup... lots of track guys run square setups but they aren't concerned with traction control

Oh the traction control, so that's why the two different sizes. Same size of
Wheels all the way around=no traction control. Thanks man!

yep it's mostly the difference of the overall diameter of the tires from front to back but I stated the wheel sizes still need to be different due to width to accommodate the different tire sizes

Or as Neutron82 pointed out you can turn off TC every time you start the car...........
Wow good info guys, thank you!!

FYI, 265-35-18 front 295-35-18 rear works just fine for me with no traction control issues etc. Btw, 9.5 rim width F and 10.5 R.

As stated, it is the overall diameter that is crucial to TC/AH. I ran 18X9.5 wheels (basically 4 OEM thin spokes 18X9.5 rear wheels) at all four corners with 275X35X18 tires in front and 295X35X18 tires in the rear. This set up had an overall diameter of 25.6 in front and 26.1 in rear meeting the stagger requirements for TC/AH and I had no problems.

I have 18's all the way around with no issues but I still have the proper tire stagger to keep the traction system happy.

If I were to buy new wheels for a street setup, I would go to 19s in the rear due to limited selection of 295/35 18s.

I've been running rear 18s all around on my Z for quite a few years with no problems at all. I've always run the proper stagger on the front and rear. Currently running 285/30 on the front and 315/25 on the rear. I may go same size all around on my next set. Easy to do with one of the handheld tuners, like the Predator, which lets you tell the computer your tire sizes. You can also have a shop that does tunes take care of this for you and then you know you're good to go with your active handling!!!

I've learned in this thread that front and rear tires have to be staggered for TC. VERY interesting I really learned a lot from this thread! Now I'm thinking of buying Z06 wheels as I could install bigger tires Is there any difference in weight in Z06 wheels vs standard? What would be my total
Advantage of doing so?

If I remember correctly, at the time the C5s were being produced the Z06 wheels were the lightest wheels that GM had produced. I think the fronts were 19 lbs and the rears were 21 lbs. Pretty much one of the lightest wheels available at the time. Also very strong! As for any advantages, like you said, you can install wider tires, and you'll save weight. With 18s all around you can install most of the big brake kits that are available these days.
Don't forget about the option of buying a used Predator tuner as well. They're pretty cheap on the Forum and will let you install the same size tires all around if you want to go that route. Plus the tuner gives you lots of other goodies as well.

The lightest wheels for the C5 were the magnesium wheels. Many of the SCCA Corvettes with Z06 are running the rear Mag wheels from a C5 (with spacers) on the front and 10.5" Speedline's on the rear to reduce the unsprung weight.
