C5 M6 stock exhaust welded on to mid pipe?????
2000 m6 stock exhaust. Just bought a borla exhaust and went to change it. Got under the car and the stock exhaust is welded on to mid pipe. No flange, no bolts just a sleeve that is over the mid pipe end and the over the axle pipe end welded together.
Any other stock C5's that were like this? This sucks now I cant mount my new exhaust and I don't want to pay some shop to install it and weld it on now. I don't want the borla hacked up.

Nope the dealer did it. I checked the service records and the cats and Mid pipe were replaced at one time. Notes stated weld both ends per service writer.
I had to buy a flange kit online. Now I have to cut and put on the flange kit on the mid pipe. Fun fun fun...UGH

Good luck with the repair, but as 8VETTE7 stated, no C5 came from the factory that way. The dealership welded those pipes together on their own if they did the work.
