C5 shift stuck in park

C5 shift stuck in park
my first thread, so please dont bash me to badly. I did a quick search and only seen this discussed on the c6. not sure if they are the same. I have had it hang up a couple times, then i can hear something release and it will then shift into gear. any help would be appreciated.

That happened to me a couple of times. I would turn off car and restart and pushed up beyond park then bring down. Seemed to work for me, shifter cable your shifter will move, it won't go into gear. Hope this helps

thanks, thats what i did too, wasnt sure if it was a coincidence. wasnt sure if this car had a electric switch connected to the brake pedal arm like on a tahoe.
