I need to change the passenger side O2 sensor I have long tube headers does the header have to be unbolted or can I just change the sensor from under the car?

I suppose it depends on the brand of headers, I have ARH, the O2 sensors are easy access from the bottom. no removal necessary.
I have xs headers... thats really going to suck if I have to unbolt it. Also I have the adapters should I just buy rear 02s and use them for the front? Thanks

I cannot speculate on removal of O2's on XS headers. I'm surprised you haven't placed your rear's up front already. That's usually something done at the time of initial header installation.

Why do people move rear o2 sensors to the front, I have heard that the fronts and the rears have two different jobs to do and they read/report to PCM differently. How does this help the engine tune?
Thanks
The rear O2's, being down stream, are more sensitive in determining the exhaust flowing by them. When people change from a stock exhaust to true headers, the O2 sensor is moved further down stream to the collector area. The rear O2's are better at reporting the accuracy of the exhaust stream and are often used as pre-cat O2's as a result. You will have to pick up an aftermarket pigtail to connect them to the front O2 wiring.
I moved my rears to the front and tuned out the rears. I also used heat wrap on the wires to protect them.
Got it at Lowe's
There have been times when headers have cooked, burnt coatings, and shorted other wires.
Not that hard to do, and did both sides of Eng.
Connector for rear's to front 02's::Racetronix -LS1-O2 - Rear to front O2 adapter
2 @ $10.00 USD
$20.00 USD
I hope this helps, also I did not loosen the headers, took a little more time. I have Hinsonmotorsports, purchased their complete set-up. Headers to the rear, coated, Xpipe all hardware ect.

I have those adapters...they don't work on a 2004. still searching or I'm going to buy just a front sensor.

Didn't know that. Have you contacted Gene at Cultrag Performance-
484-334-8833....Or send a question to Bill Curlee a forum member. He tops when it comes to electrical stuff. Not for sure, but I think there is a reason Y they move rear's to front. Gene or Bill could answer that one.
