PO343 = CMP sensor high voltage - B

P1571 = ASR desired torque - C

If I'm not mistaken P1571 is a '97 only code for normal operation and it is set continuously. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

This is a code indicating the cam positon sensor, or assciated cabling and connections is intermittent or failed. I'm not sure how the PCM uses this information but it can't be good to be losing it.

Your starting problem has to do with your P0343 code. That code is for the cam position sensor. If you only had a crank postion sensor it would not know if you were on compression stroke or exhaust stroke. The Cam position sensor tells the computer which stroke your on. For your coils to know when to fire the car needs to know when you are comming up on the compression stroke.

Your computer should store freeze frame data on this sensor. You will need a "auto tap" or "tech II" to read the data.

Good Luck
