Service column lock
I read the sticky but am still not sure what I need to do.
2000 MT Coupe 65k
The steering wheel was originally locking but I could always just turn the wheel against the stop and wait a bit and it would unlock by turning the key. Now it does not lock but says "service column lock" and won't respond. I have tried pulling and inspecting fuses but everything looks okay. I am charging the battery at the moment but the battery is from 9/16 so it is not very old.
The knee bolster is the molded plate under the steering wheel right? I am going to try and find the ECL(?) and see if the recall thing had been performed.
Gosh this is my only way of getting to work so I am a little frantic.
I will call corvettes of houston in the morning.

Sorry, I wrote this in a haze at 2 AM when I finally got my car towed and back home and started researching this.
The dash says "service column lock", does not lock, and the engine stalls.
I am in The Woodlands, TX just north of Houston.
I should add some info to my account >_<
Okay I will order this part.
