Pro's and Con's between hydraulic roller and solid roller
Can some one please post all the pro's and con's between hydraulic roller and solid roller? It would greatly help all of us who is looking at building a new motor.

Solid roller is more aggressive and will cost you around $1500 to $2000 more on initial investment with springs, Shaft mount rockers, etc. etc.
You will get a lot more torque down low as well as more HP all over!!
The down is the initial cost and the maintinance. You will need to adjust rockers every so often (once to twice a year) and depending on the cam profile, springs will need to be changed every 2-3 years. Lifters will need to be watched also.
Hydraulic is more maintinance free, but of course, you are giving up some power.
Lash can be set in around an hour if you are really good, so it is not really that big of a deal.
Hope this helps.

Chris, thanks for the explaination.
How much more HP/TQ are we talk about? 15-20rwhp/tq across the rpm range? And also, which one would be best suited for a nitrous motor?
Re: Pro's and Con's between hydraulic roller and solid roller (Tuan Le)
How much HP/TQ that you are going to gain depends on quite a few things. How agressive of a solid cam you go with will make a big difference. Whether or not your heads will support more lift and flow well in the .650"+ range. etc. etc....
I would look for around a 25+ RWHP/RWTQ gain on average across the board. YMMV.
Solid roller will make a very good solid roller setup.
