Hey guys, I just bought my dads '00 FRC and already fix'n and wanting to change a few things.
I've seen C6 ***** on C5's and thought the sued centennial shift **** and boot would look killer in my C5!
-I want to know if it was possible to install a C6 shifter handle onto an early B&M ripper shifter. I have not had time to pull it all apart just yet just going on pictures. I like the the B&M precision but it is far too short and a just a little rough even after the anti-venom mod.
-Is it even possible to buy just the handle of a C6 shifter? It looks like you can swap just the handle part, true?
-What is with the notches at the end of the C6 shifter handle? Is that geometry critical for the ****? (circled) Dimensions?
I may end up having to make my own handle as I can only find whole C6 shifter kits only. I just want to get a little bit more leverage against the trans to reduce effort and spread the gates out a little more. I'm coming from a '90 C4 Vette with a Hurst / ZF6 combo and feel its the perfect combo for street and track days.
yes, C6 ***** are available threaded for the C5 applications. Just do a google search.
I did, and I could not find the centennial sued C6 **** and boot for a C5 style shifter. On top of that simply switching a **** will not do much to reduce effort. I was wanting to know if the lever portion of C6 shifter would fit onto a B&M ripper...hoping to help reduce effort if the lever is longer.
What exactly does it take to convert a C6 **** to a threaded C5 style?

C6 ***** are a slip fit with a set screw. C5 ***** are 5/16-18 threaded. GS Creations sell a C6 **** in suede that is threaded for the C5 handles.
If you want to reduce effort on the Rippers, do the procedure in the following link. I run Rippers in both of my cars and have done the Anti-venom mods.
