i have my eyes on these for a long time now. it dropped down in price and a new package with a bigger memory card is available. could be used on multiple cars and accurate. I still prefer the DVD-based navigators though, bigger screen and more features. Still thinking about purchasing one though, coz everytime i am about to get it, I buy new mods for the Vette.

Re: Garmin Streetpilot III (c5chris)
I have the SPIII in my daily driver. I love it! It is very accurate and easy to use. I have the Alpine DVD-NAV system in my Corvette and I believe the Garmin SPIII is more accurate and a lot easier to use. The Alpine system does not display upcoming streets and intersections. The SPIII does. This is a very nice feature. Another feature I like about the SPIII is it's portability. I travel a lot and I take it with me in the rental cars. I punch in an address or location and it guides me street by street, turn by turn.
Sure beats my nagging girlfriend yelling at me to pull over and ask for directions from some gas station clerk that doesn't even speak english! :mad
I have one velcroed to the top of my dash above the radio. Very useful and helpful. I went to B.G. last weekend and it came in real handy usiing a detour. I also use it on my boat.
