This might be posted somewhere else so please forgive me if I am re hashing an old thread.
My AC compressor was not kicking on so I added some refrigerant and it worked just fine for a while.
It turns out I had a leaking schrader valve and it all leaked out again.
Once I replaced the valve and charged back up the system, it would not blow cold and every time the clutch engaged the belt squealed really bad.
If anyone has had this problem please chime in and give your 2 cents. Thanks

How exactly did you charge the system? Did you completely evacuate the system before recharging?

I used a no gas loss tool when I changed the schader so it still had a charge on it, just not enough to engage the pressure switch.
Once I started filling it up and the clutch engaged it started making a lot of noise and would not blow cold.
I cleared all codes and tryed again with the same results.
I think you need to evacuate the system with a vacuum pump the recharge the system. With the Schroeder valve leaking, your AC system probably equilibrated to atmospheric pressure. This woun't allow you to properly recharge the system until you evacuate it. You can rent all the tools that you need to do this at Autozone. You need the vacuum pump, hose set, and refrigerant. Look up some YouTube videos on how to do it. Eric The Car Guy has a good one here;
