Default front sway bar making contact

have a 2001 with Bilstein sport shocks and Hotchkiss sway bars. The car has a supercharger so added weight in front. Heard and felt suspension contact when hitting small bumps in road. Found marks on the sway bar which lead me to believe it was the sway bar making contact. Removed it and went for a drive and no noise. Put it back on and after a couple of miles the noise came back. Any suggestions on why this would suddenly start after 6 years of running this set-up? Could the shocks be bad? supported the car with jacks to get the front wheels off the ground and I didn't see anything that looked or felt loose. Suggestions? Thanks for helping.

sorry, should have mentioned that... no I replaced the cheap plastic links on all 3 of my C5s with the metal ones a few years back as they were shot... I used the GM links though not the ones from Hotchkiss

I just ordered a set of GM C6 Z06 to replace the Bilstein sport shocks in case they might be shot and helping to cause the issue
