Any use for cracked composite leaf spring?
Any use or way to recycle cracked composite leafspring? I figure the isolators and possibly the ends can be reused but mine has a split down the side. I purchased a replacement from a forum member but these days I like to RRR as much as possible.

Replacement springs are very common so personally I don't see a need to keep it if it's physically damaged. They can get pricey though new, but my initial thought is that if you're in need of a spring then it's probably worth ponying up the $$$ for the spring and replacement isolators.

I bought a low-mileage used spring sight-unseen that came without isolators, because the previous owner's mechanic had cut them off for some insane reason. I was thankful that I still had my old spring and successfully cut off its isolators with a fillet knife and attached them to the new spring with windshield adhesive before throwing my old one out.
So, based on that experience, I'd cut off the isolators and save them, even though you'll probably never need them
