C5 Stock Cat Back Exhaust Modification
I noticed that I can buy C5 stock cat back exhausts for $100. Has anybody taken one of those, cut open the mufflers, gutted them, welded them shut and installed them?
If yes, how did it sound and perform?
I was wondering if this might be a low cost way to get a better sounding exhaust.

I did it about 15 years ago. Cut them open, modified, duct taped, drove, and repeat. Welded closed after I got them where I liked. My car was also catless.
They were great until I added headers and cam, then the drone was too much. I replaced them with Corsa's.
