Lots of stories on CF about bearings being replaced then failing prematurely. My originals had 120k on them when I replaced. I went with Timken (bought from Rock Auto) for one little reason...

I agree on the Timkens they are a quality replacement. I got a very good deal on some AC Delco OEMs for my C5 and went with them. I used Timkens on my 1984 and completely satisfied there as well.
My C5 had 145,000 miles on them when they started to make noise. The 1984 mileage was unknown but they were loose and had to be changed.
When I decided to go with the LG drop spindles and Stance coil overs, I refreshed all the hubs/bearings, tie/toe rods/links inner and outer at the same time. I used the Timken bearings as well.
When my fronts started to go I replaced them with SKF--fronts were the HD ZL1 units and the rears were standard units. Since I autocross and HPDE for 2000 of the 3000 miles I put on the car each year, I needed better quality.
I just changed both rear hubs on my 02' Z06. Car has 85k on it, ands the right rear was howling it's tail off. Now nice and quiet. I bought AC Delco from Rock Auto. GM# 88967288 for the rear is what i used.

I went Timken on the truck. It is a sealed bearing pack like the C5. My C5 will be tracked and will get SKF. If I had a street car Timkens would be considered depending on the price difference between Timken and SKF.
I bought a pair of SKF fronts for my C5 on RockAuto a few weeks ago, and there it was, right on the box...
Made in China
I installed them anyway because I didn't have time to return them. They're probably okay; I still trust SKF not to ship junk, but if you want something Made in USA (which I did, which is why I paid more for SKF), the regular SKF hubs are no longer the go-to option. Maybe Timken is still shipping USA-made hubs? I think the race-optimized SKF X-tracker hubs ($$$) are also still made here.
