Just wondering if someone can tell me if there is an easy way to remove and replace an air conditioning vent in my '98. It is the passenger side far right vent. Just want to know if they pop out forward, or do I have to take the dash off to change.
good news is ......its not as bad as it seems....take you about 45 min ...mostly 7mm hexheads and some torx screws,,,10mm for the center console armrest
tilt the steering wheel down..pull it back and up and pull it out the passenger side....remove the targa if you have one its just easier to move around
Apparently, my c5 has some dead mice in the ac duct, I found a nest and one old dead mouse inside the door vent duct. I am not sure if there are anymore, but the smell is still coming from the vents. If the dash is removed will I have access to the duct system? The fan was dropped and no sign of any mice. Thx
I'm on my third mouse infestation. What is it about C5 air conditioning systems that attracts mice. First repair was $1600, 2nd time it was $2000. The third time the infestation wasn't so bad that I could get rid of the smell and still have some AC functionality. I park my C5 in the garage surrounded by mouse traps. I live in the country so plenty of field rats and mice here. I can somewhat control the mice by placing bars of Irish Spring soap in the engine compartment and under the dash. Not the most elegant solution but it does seem to work. Makes a nice air freshener.
