Question: Are there 2 different C6 shifters, ZO6 and regular or are they all the same? GMpartshouse doesn't seem to distinguish and I'm confused. I'm also in the process of upgrading and would hate to get the wrong one.

I'll preface this by saying this is what I recall from some years back when I was looking at shifters - could be wrong, but I think I'm correct.
Originally the C6 Z06 shifter did not have the insulators so it bolted down hard to the torque tube. Due to complaints about noise, vibration, etc., the Z then went to the regular C6 shifter with insulators, like the C5. The C6 shifter requires a C6 **** as well, as it is not threaded. Aftermarket companies sell cut down and threaded C6 shifters - I bought one from TPS some years back.
I put an MGW shifter in my 03 and did not like it. Kept hanging up between 4th& 5th and 5th to 4th.. I sold it and put in a c6 shifter and shift **** and I am very pleased. Shifts very accurate, crisp and smooth. Easy install,

Hello and thanks for the response. Was the MGW shifter the flat stick ? So far I have had only positive reply's with the MGW lineup ? You never know ?

I have seen good reviews on the MGW and the C6 shifter. My experience was almost 3 years ago and I think MGW made some improvements since then. Call and ask they have excellent c/s. Additionally, the C6 shifter costs less than the MGW. You can get the shifter and **** at one price from Gene at Cultrag performance parts. He's a forum dealer

I tried the Hinson shifter and did not like it at all. Much too short of a shift and the side to side motion was just way too stiff.
I did get the MGW and I really like it. Also, did the Antivenom mod. Absolutely top quality in everyway and it includes both the shifter box and shifter. Shifts are shorter and more notchy which I like.
The C6 Z06 shifter would have been my next choice after the MGW.

I have the TPS 427x (C6 Z06 modified) shifter and I like it better than the stock shifter. I need to do the anti-venom mod though. It's still a little notchy.

TPS 427 (cut down C6 shifter) with C6 **** and anti-venom mod. Works well for me. I have no experience with the MGW or other aftermarket unit so cannot comment on any comparison.
