Default Coilover : Rattle Resolution (Ride Tech HQ)

So I ordered new end links under the impression that mine might be making noise when I hit bumps.

Replaced one and will replace it's counterpart.

However... I made a poor man's mallet by covering a hammer with a rag and zip tying it in place. Using this to sound out different suspension parts, I'm realizing that everything is pretty dang solid.

The only part of the suspension which has any resonance is the coilover itself. And even there, nothing appears loose.

Yet whenever the car goes over even small separations in pavement I hear a metallic jingle or rattle like coins. If I go over an actual bump in the road it sounds like something is loose and getting bounced around on the rebound.

It's been slowly annoying me and I'm fed up feeling embarrassed driving the car. If I didn't have to change the radiator in my daily in the morning, I have half a mind to yank the coilover and reinstall the front suspension to see if that eliminates the noise.

Anyone have a similar issue with coilovers? These are ride tech. I've submitted emails to them and not been responded to. My work hours encompass their business hours so I don't have the chance to call in to a tech.

do the springs have rubber isolators on the top and bottom that cushion them against the perches?... maybe go over them and make sure all the bolts are tight... I have lg gt2's on my car so not a direct comparison but they are quiet

Rubber, no. Looks like a very hard plastic. The one I looked at did show some wear which I will try to reach the company about.

I'm going to completely redo the front right suspension in the am to try to find / eliminate any cause again. You'd think it would be easier to find.

Doesn't look it. But maybe. And I used my weight to try and shift the suspension up/down when I was tapping around with the mallet.

The origin of the noise was directly after the coilovers went in. No other changes made at that time. Front right was loudest and remains so, but all four corners seem to jingle a little. Front is more of a rapid rattle of a loose part.

In my head I see 3 possible culprits. Coilover or how I installed it (I always allow for error), sway bar and/or associated parts (not enough torque on bushings maybe?), or in the case of the front right only... The lower a-arm which I removed to get the front leaf spring out. Pretty sure it it torqued in enough again, but who can say right now?

We usually find worn endlinks for the sway bars. It doesn't take much play to get a rattle. I will be following your thread, it there is anything I can help you with my direct line is 812-481-4742.

Thanks, Rodney. My work hours make it tough to reach out sometimes. I hope to get to the car this weekend again, but need to fix my daily first. When I do the rear end links and uninstall / reinstall the front right coilover, I hope to have a better localization for the bouncing metal noise.
